In the early 1950’s, the father of today’s
president built a poultry farm and
hatchery in Ospel, the Netherland.
As the business grew, Hendrix senior’s
three sons joined the business.
In april 1991, they acquired the Bovans
layer business; the breeding company,
Hendrix Poultry Breeders (HPB) was
created.
Further development was made in 1998, when the joint venture with Hisex, part of Nutreco Animal Breeding Division, became a reality.
Two years later, the assets of Dekalb Poultry Research Inc. were acquired, followed in 2005 by the merger with Institut de Sélection Animale (ISA) and the integration of the strong Isa, Shaver and Babcock breed in the gene pool, creating ISA, the layer division of Hendrix Genetics.
